Vermont is a small New England state; it has the second smallest population of all the fifty states. Vermont is the only New England state which does not have a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. The state is best known for its dairy products, maple syrup and staunchly liberal, independent political views. Montpelier is the capital city (the only state capital without a McDonalds), while Burlington is the largest city in the state.
