Wyoming is found in the western United States. It is a dry state, most of the land receiving less than 10 inches of rainfall yearly. Wyoming is the least populous state in the nation, with less than half a million inhabitants. The capital city is Cheyenne, the largest city in the state. The arid land does not support much agriculture, but ranching is a primary economic endeavor. The state sport is the rodeo. The state motto is “Equal Rights,” and the state is sometimes called the “Equality State.” True to its motto, Wyoming was the first state to give women the right to vote.
