Like all Volvos, the V50 comes loaded with safety features. Side airbags for front occupants and side curtain airbags for front and rear occupants are standard. A whiplash protection seating system protects occupants from neck injury in the event of a rear-impact collision. Four-wheel antilock disc brakes (with emergency braking assist) and traction control systems are also standard. Stability control is optional on all trims.
